For those of you who still are following this, I have stopped posting here except for if I have something particularly lengthy (or angsty). Since I almost never got around to sitting down to write long posts, I've found that spontaneous postings through Twitter is much more convenient to let people know what I'm up to.

Also, I have a Flickr pool for my photos:

...aaaaand I have a FaceBook page (and MySpace as well for completion).

I am also available via a huge torrent of different IM mediums (MSN, Yahoo, ICQ, Skype, AIM, Google-Talk, Jabber, FaceBook, etc)

An interesting quote by a game designer, Ragnar Tornquist, who was interviewed by Rock, Paper, Shotgun.

"We had all these characters who were on a journey of faith, and we said how can we ensure that this theme is carried through, and have a clear view of how their journeys happen. So we said, every single major character had to fit into this model. Everybody starts out at the top. Faith can be anything — it can be religion, it can be a belief in yourself, in your abilities, in the work you do. As we face challenge, there's a process where we have loss of faith. It can be a minor thing: thinking one day, 'God, I suck at what I do. I can't do this.' And a lot of people after that point turn themselves around, face those problems, challenge them and they conquer them, and they say, 'Screw that, I am good at what I do.' I think most happy people live in this loop."

The idea that a basically happy existence can exist at the cost of occasional depression is a somewhat novel one. This of course requires the individual to challenge that temporary setback and/or depression. Its an interesting idea. Further that Faith need not be in the external, but is often manifested more internally than not. Given my recent feelings and events, I find it a very intriguing idea worthwhile of further thought.

BWahahaha...

I don't know why, but I'm always rather satisfied with myself when a succesful hack goes of well. After a few weeks of research, I managed to get a leaked Radio chipset Firmware release for my phone. Along with that, I went in whole hog to get a customized new OS Firmware load. So now instead of the stock WindowsMobile 6.0 with a bunch of crap from the vendor, I now have a clean, customized and speedy load of WindowsMobile 6.1. I loaded back on a few vendor apps and customizations, as they are handy. I also loaded all of my snazzy custom SPB shell software, GoogleMaps and GoogleSearchBar. I managed to find a scraped copy of the full thing for WindowsLiveMobile (IE: MSN Messenger tie in for data connection on smartphone).

The update does a lot of nice little things. New IE in WinMob6.1 can do zooming better and supposedly has tabs (haven't tested out tabs yet). This means the built-in WiFi will definitely be more functional, although when the new OperaMobile comes out, I may spring for that. SMS is now threaded, and integrated with MMS. So it all flows together. The big thing I missed from my Treo was threaded SMS. Better OS memory handling in 6.1, although applications are still prone to self-bloating. The damned cyclical self-reboot when a SD card is plugged in on reboot has been fixed. The keyboard driver fix for certain old WinMob applications (so I don't type random symbols and numbers instead of letters). Lotsa little things here and there. Plus this way I clean out the cruft from several apps I tried and disliked.

^_^

For those who don't know, I just recently started posting to Twitter as well. Until I can be bothered to figure out how to syndicate it directly into here as well, I'll be posting shorter things there. (as if I posted long things here anyways)

I find Twitters allows for more blurb and stream of consciousness type postings. LJ is too cumbersome to be able to do that kind of thing easily.

*grumbles* Does _ANYBODY_ actually use ICQ anymore? I'm tempted to disconnect it from my list of myriad IM services that nobody talks to me over. Seriously. The only interaction from ICQ I have gotten in a long time is thousands and thousands of contact requests, followed immediately by Spam. Not even generic spam most of the time. Russian spam, mostly pointing to trojans, keyloggers, or warez sites. Sometimes even bizarrely enough, English spam, posting for Russian Brides. Do people still do that anymore? I thought the whole Russian bride thing was out (and that southeast asian was the new in thing for that sort of nonsense).

>_< Bleh... contracted marital services. I'ld rather go unmarried than think that whoever was with me was only there for a meal-ticket and the requisite time for a green-card and citizenship. Screw that.

Soooo, I know I have one or two contacts out there, aintshefancy has a contact # through there, but I also have her on 3 other services as well. (I could probably add another 2 or 3 if I bothered, and this doesn't even include in-game communications)

So, anybody know somebody that actually uses ICQ? Do they actively use it? Are they of Russian or Slavic decent and speak a related language?

If any of you remember the disturbing post I put up before of that wonderful little Phillipino prison, this won't come as any surprise.

Apparently they finished practicing the Haruhi Dance number they were working on...

Behold, and weep for humandkind.

Have you ever felt that you really want to rant, bitch and generally go off about something, yet any audience you have, you feel like you have no right bitching to them about it?

>_<

I mean... I have a lot of shit that is just pissing me the hell off, and a small number of things that are just annoyingly depressing to me, and I have lots of people I can talk to, but none of them I feel I have the right to burden them with such. All my friends and acquaintances are in worse positions than I am. My family is either overseas or for the most part knows next to nothing of my life other than I live, I work, and (somewhat recently) I got married. Heck some of them don't know the latter still.   All of my friends... their lives are more difficult than mine. They mostly earn less, have more going out, have more things they are stuck doing, and in general have a harder time of it than I do. Granted, even if they are friends, I have no right burdening any of them with my bitching.

Yet, I still feel the need to bitch. So many things buzzing in the back of my head that I can't even concentrate. Just lots and lots of minor annoyances that are piling up. A few major annoyances that are just grinding on my mind. Then there are a number of occurences and things said that have me upset. bleh. Sooooo... I have to wonder do I just suffer in silence, bear my mind to nothing in a priv locked blog post, or do I bother to burden said folks.

Anime Expo 2006

Now including "Blurry Masquerade Shots" (trademark pending)...

Why haven't I posted up the 2007 photos? Simply because I took _ONE_ photo... and I can't get it off the damn memory card because Lexar refuses to make drivers for Windows XP and Windows Vista for their PCMCIA memory card ready (CF -> PCMCIA -> USB Card Reader by Lexar) methinks that I need to just pop the CF into another memory format reader... I'll post up that solitary photo for the person who I took it of later.
